Plug Type A
Plug Type A are mainly used in USA, Canada, Central America, and Japan (Unearthed), they are only compatible with Type A sockets (outlets). We recommend you to look at type B adaports which are a earthed version of Type A adaptor.
The Type A plug has two flat parallel pins. No earth connection. Sometimes called the “NEMA connector”, in this case NEMA 1-15.
Although the plugs in the US and in Japan look similar, in the US version the neutral pin is wider than the live pin. In the Japanese version the pins are the same size. So Japanese plugs can be used in the US but often not vice versa.
In some sockets the holes in the pins of Type A and Type B plugs are bigger and keep the plug from coming out.
The Type A plug is used for currents up to 15 A.
